The Huddle Helper October 2023

Our Happy to Help Hero Highlight

“Taybree always shows up to work with a smile on her face.  She treats everyone from staff to guests of the hotel with a positive manner.  She never says “no”, instead she finds a way to accomplish the task or item they have asked for.

Guests rave about the service that she provides; from the gift bags that Choice Privileges members receive at check in to remembering our frequent guests by name; guests return because of her service.

She is always looking for ways to do her job better, she studies and finds ways to improve her customer service skills, she has asked to have more knowledge and training on how to conduct sales and puts those items into action.

When we were going through a staff shortage, she stepped up to cover shifts while still attending her high school courses.  When there was a management change, she stepped up and assisted the rest of the staff to conduct the manager’s duties. She’s shown great loyalty to the team and the hotel.

Outside of work, while in high school, she put together a clothing and food drive for the homeless community in Idaho Falls.”

She goes above and beyond in everything that she does. We all love her here!

In September, your hotel received an AllTrails  poster. This program (and poster) provides quick access to the AllTrails information that will guide your guests to detailed regional trail maps in your local area!

This poster should always be on display in your hotel’s lobby and will be evaluated as part of the Quality Assurance Review process effective January 1, 2024.

Visit the AllTrails hot topic  page for more information about the wonderful collaboration!

Anticipating Guest Needs

All departments play a part!

Is your team ready and able to anticipate what your guests need to ensure their experience will earn your hotel a 10 out of 10 when they submit their Medallia survey?

Watch for upcoming Happy to Help Huddles for more training made to help ensure your team is able to anticipate your guests’ needs. Additionally, you can use the vast resources in the Choice University library to provide your team with the necessary tools and information they need to be a Happy to Help Hero at your hotel!

Safety Awareness at Your Hotel

In the hospitality industry, it is important that all members of the team know they are key to keeping the hotel as safe and secure as possible. There are a variety of safety issues to be mindful of within the hotel, Human Trafficking is one of the larger issues prevalent, though there are others.

Be sure your team knows what to look for and how/where to report any suspicious activity. More resources are available in Choice University.
