Are You Ready?

Have you or your team reviewed the 2023 Sample Quality Assurance Review (QAR) to ensure your hotel will pass this year’s inspection? If not, NOW is the time to freshen up on your QAR brand standards.

Use the Comfort Inn/Comfort Inn & Suites or Comfort Suites form.

Tips:

  • Involve your entire team!
  • Consider assigning a department lead to varying areas. For example, have a breakfast attendant review the breakfast area, a front office supervisor review the front desk, lobby, and business center areas, etc.
  • Divide and conquer by department and/or shifts.
  • Utilize a Comfort Rally to review the QAR brand standards as a team; this way everyone is prepared and feels empowered to do their part.
  • Don’t forget to review Cleanliness & Condition as these are also evaluated in the QAR, this link to CUTV offers a quick ‘What is Clean’ refresh.

We all WIN when communication is smooth!

We know you work hard to ensure smooth guest interactions. Interdepartmental communication needs to run just as smoothly!

To help you and your team master the art of communication (before your busy season), here are some ideas to consider :

  • Use a logbook designed for hotels!
  • Use digital applications while at work to communicate (Whats App, Slack, Teams, Google, or other third-party services)
  • Use Walkie Talkies for Management, Leads, and Maintenance (be sure they are set to a low volume if using them around guests)
  • Use White Boards or Calendars to communicate of groups arrivals, events, and other hotel happenings / need-to-knows.

Is Your Team Fueled?

You may soon be entering the busy season… If that’s so, how is your team doing? Are they running on full? Or are they running on empty? What level of service are they prepared to give your guests?

At Comfort brand hotels, we aim to Connect with Care, Think Ahead and Own It.

Is your team ready and able to do this? Are they applying those same ideas to their own well-being, or are they in need of a wellness check?

When your team members are running on empty, they’re not able to deliver the welcome, inviting, and friendly service our guests deserve.

If you or your team aren’t feeling your best, consider the following:

  • If a team member appears to be struggling or in need of a break, check on them. Show them you care and that they deserve to take care of themselves.
  • Ask team members how they manage stress and share healthy tips with the whole team.
  • Make wellness a part of your daily discussions. When we discuss our wellness needs and ideas often, it can become a part of our culture.
  • Have your team re-visit the “Focus on YOU ” Comfort Rally to help them get re-centered and fueled up!
